We had the opportunity to go out to lunch with some relatives of a friend that lives in Colombia. It was great that the kids could enjoy a lunch and talk with someone new from Colombia. We all had a wonderful time!
Our church hosted an adoption awareness concert last night, and it reminded us of why we felt called to adopt. There are so many children out there waiting for their forever families! The night was focused on foster care and adoption, and what we can all do to help. Some people feel called to adopt like we did. Some people feel strongly about supporting a child overseas that is in need of sponsorship. Some people are gifted to just help and support those who have adopoted or are foster parents. We made a video of our kids to show last night, and we have been very blessed with the support we have received from our church. Thank you for all of your support, prayers, and friendships!
The kids went to the mall for a visit with Santa. We don't go to the mall often so it was a new excursion for the kids. Although they enjoyed seeing Santa and the Christmas decorations, the highlight of the trip was walking through the Disney store and playing at the lego store. The next time we have a free evening, we will have to go back again.
The kids were so excited Christmas morning and couldn't wait to see all of the gifts. Celebrations are important in our family, and we always try and make them very special. So, we wanted to make the kids' first Christmas here a special one. Here is a video of their first look on Christmas morning. The first thing they did was check to see if Santa ate his cookies and drank his milk. They were so excited to see that it was all gone! After checking out the plate of cookies they left for Santa, the kids found the gifts Santa had left for them.
